There are six middle schools in Kyle, Texas.

Barton, Chapa, Simon and Wallace Middle Schools are in the Hays CISD District and serve 6th-8th grades. They start the day at 8:10am and conclude at 3:35pm. IDEA Kyle and Valor are charter schools.
Kyle has excellent middle schools, elementary schools and high schools.
Barton Middle School
Established in 1993, the school is named for R.C. Barton, superintendent of Buda School District during the Great Depression and World War II. He also served as principal in the Kyle School District.
Chapa Middle School
The school is named for Armando Chapa, beloved community leader and the principal of Hays Middle School. He opened Kyle Middle School (now Wallace MS) in 1986. He also served as a counselor at Barton Middle School from 1992 until his retirement in 2004.
Simon Middle School
The school is named for Delvin John “Red” Simon, a member of the Kye Independent School District, which merged with the Buda and Wimberly School Districts to form Hays CISD in 1967. Simon was the first Hays CISD Board President. He was also established Red Simon Ford, a prominent car dealership in San Marcos, TX.
Wallace Middle School
Formerly Kyle Middle School, the school was renamed for Laura Belle Wallace. She started her teaching career in San Marcos, TX and also taught for the former Kyle Independent School District for over 26 years. Wallace also coached girls’ baseball.
IDEA Kyle
The charter school opened in 2018 and serves grades K-12 on one campus.
Valor Kyle
Valor is a charter school serving grades K-9. It will eventually serve students through 12th grade, on one campus.
