There are five high schools serving Kyle, Texas. Hays CISD is a large public school district serving the community with Hays High School, Lehman High School and Live Oak Academy. IDEA Kyle is a charter school serving K-11 in the 23-24 academic year. 12th grade will be added in 24-25. Valor is a charter school that is scheduled to add 9th grade students in the 2023-2024 school year.
Both Hays High and Lehman High Schools are comprehensive schools with a teacher directed model. They have full academic and sports programs. Live Oak Academy is an alternative school of choice. Students can accelerate or catch up on their course work through computer-based instruction supported by teachers.

Lehman High School is known for a two-time state champion girls powerlifting team and an award-winning Mariachi program. Hays High School has a state championship softball team and a cheerleading squad that has twice won the NCA High School Nationals crown.
IDEA serves all grades on one campus. Total enrollment for all grades is 1,233 for grades K-11 in 23-24.
Valor Kyle serves grades K-8 in the 2022-2023 school year and will likewise add a grade each year as it grows to serve K-12.
Because Hays CISD is a traditional public school system, it is governed by an elected Board of Trustees that live in the community. IDEA and Valor are non-profit organizations and their board members currently do not live in Kyle.
