At the February 6, 2023 Hays CISD Board meeting, the Trustees and Administrators will discuss a proposal to expand and modernize Fuentes Elementary and Hemphill Elementary to 900 students.  If Trustees agree to this priority, they may add an item to the May 2023 Bond to pay for architectural design fees to draft expansion plans.  If this measure is added to the ballot and it passes, it does not mean that the construction will occur.  The Board would likely need to come back to the voters in a subsequent bond to pay for the construction costs.
