Hays Latinos United (HLU) is local community organization formed as a direct response to the racial disparities of the Latino community and other people of color.   HLE formed in during the on-set of COVID-19 and has served the Kyle and surrounding community.  The organization provides free COVID-19 vaccines, COVID testing, Personal Protective Equipment, PPE, water and food.

Hays Latinos United focuses on Education, Wellness, Prevention and Access.

HLU was founded by local community organizer, Dr. Michelle Cohen.  She has a Doctorate in Management in Organizational Leadership and is also an ordained minister.

HLU has numerous partners which include United Way, Hays County, City of Kyle, Mano Amiga San Marcos Texas, Hays-Caldwell Women’s Center, Va Together Austin, CommuniCare, Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Blue Cross Blue Shield, WellMed, Word of Life Christian Faith Center, CURATIVE, Sendero Health Plans, Latino Health Care Forum, and Palms Car Wash.
